Jarrahdale Pumpkin

Jarrahdale pumpkin is a pumpkin with gray skin. It is nearly identical to ‘Queensland Blue’ and ‘Sweet Meat’ varieties.

Grow Jarrahdale Pumpkin

They like their soil well drained, so sandy soil is good, as long as the ph is watched.
Plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water often. Keep in mind when planting that Jarrahdale is thought of as tender, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside. USDA Hardiness Zone 10 to 12 are typically the USDA Hardiness Zones that are appropriate for this plant (although this can vary based on your microclimate). Try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 6.1 and 6.5 as Jarrahdale likes to be in weakly acidic soil.

Grow from Seeds

Sow 1.17 inches (3.0 cm) deep with a guideline distance of 2.27 feet (70.0 cm). Soil temperature should be kept higher than 21°C / 70°F to ensure good germination.

Harvesting Jarrahdale

This variety tends to be ready for harvesting by early autumn.

Beautiful blue grey exterior and deep orange sweet flesh that is dry and stringless with a complex flavor perfect for breads and muffins. Very aromatic pumpkin – some says it smells like apples.
Jarrahdale grows as an Annual and is a Vegetable. Being an Annual, it tends to grow best over the course of a single year. Normally growing to a mature height of 50.0 cm (1.62 feet), Jarrahdale grows with a vine-like habit. This variety tends to bloom in mid summer.

New Zealand is believed to be where Jarrahdale originates from.

Jarrahdale Winter squash is normally quite a low maintenance plant and is normally very easy to grow – great for beginner gardeners!
